(More customer reviews)OK - I understand the concerns some of the reviewers have for these magnificent little gadgets. That's because they're not using them for what they were intended! Here's the problem: if all you need is a couple of trays to keep in your freezer all the time for making ice, then there is no reason to use these. Just use regular trays that stack normally. These are for something else altogether! What's special about these trays is that if you fill them with something you want to freeze, they stack one way, with plenty of room for the frozen liquid, but if you are just storing them between uses they stack differently, one inside the next! This is absolutely fantastic, *if you use them from time to time*. That's because they use up very little space in a cabinet, when they are stored away! I make soup broth from scratch, strain it, then freeze it in ice cube trays, then save the frozen cubes in freezer bags, ready to use when I cook. This is something that every serious cook does routinely. (I am not a serious cook, but I cook easily, and fairly often from scratch) What this means is that I need lots of ice cube trays, but only for a couple of days at a time, then I store the clean trays in a cabinet. Before I had these little gems I used to need a huge amount of space just to store trays that I would only use for freezing stock! Now they all fit so well in a neat stack! This is really a beautiful and simple idea. Of course, you can use these to freeze anything else, if what you need is to freeze a large amount, then store the cubes in bags in the freezer and store the trays in a cabinet.
Some examples: fruit juice; sauces or creams that take time to make, many freeze well, so you can make a large amount once, freeze it and have a little at a time later.
