The insert makes it easy to remove the tea after brewing, although it works best for tea bags, as some loose tea leaves can escape the brew insert. Love the shape, it's perfect for the crowed shelves on the refrigerator door. Dishwasher safe, so clean-up is a snap. I just bought a second one.
